At Sherpa Leadership we firmly believe that great business performance is only sustainable in the presence of excellent leadership. We are passionate about working with and developing extraordinary leaders. We know they really can make a world of difference and that leadership skills can be developed – anyone can learn to be a better leader.

The inspiration for our approach to leadership development comes from the legendary Sherpas of Nepal who are well-known as élite mountaineers and experts in their local terrain. They are highly regarded for their dedication, resourcefulness, and expertise in assisting mountaineers as they climb the world’s highest mountains. Like these Sherpas, our role is to assist you in finding and negotiating the path to your leadership summit.

Rosemary Medlock

Rosemary was employed for a several years as a Leadership Development Adviser with Toyota in Australia where she worked with leaders across all levels of the business – from Team Leaders on the Assembly Line through to the company’s Directors. As a leadership consultant, she has extensive experience in the development and delivery of leadership training and coaching programs. She has worked with organisations including CPA Australia, Country Fire Authority, University of Melbourne, Victoria University, Victorian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Royal Automobile Club of Victoria, and Wimmera Health Care Group.

Outside of work, Rosemary has also been active as a community leader – she has held leadership roles in the scouting movement, Toastmasters and Marriage Encounter’s National Leadership Team.

Rosemary’s experience is supported by her formal qualifications. She holds a Bachelor of Business and Diploma of Training and Assessment. She has completed CPA Australia’s Program for Graduates, is a Master Coach, and is accredited to administer a range of DiSC® behavioural assessment tools.

Laurie started his career working in a range of engineering and management roles in the aviation and manufacturing sectors. He then moved into senior management positions leading several hundred employees with organisations including Mars, Goodman Fielder, Mobil, and Carter Holt Harvey. He had great success in improving the performance of large operations – primarily by using effective leadership techniques to engage employees and stakeholders.

In 2009 Laurie became a full-time executive coach and leadership consultant specialising in cultural change. In this capacity he has worked with leaders at all levels in organisations including DuPont, QR National, Minerals and Metals Group, Coca Cola Amatil, Queensland Rail, BHP Billiton, CBH Group, Aurizon, Evolution Mining, St Vincent’s Health Australia, and Wimmera Health Care Group.

Laurie has post-graduate qualifications in business, occupational health and safety, and is a certified coach.
